Use local heating control with fewer cloud requests
Tado CE adds heating controls and sensors to Home Assistant, a smart-home server you run yourself. An Internet Bridge V3 or V3+ can supply temperature, humidity and ordinary heating commands over the local HomeKit connection, while other features use tado’s private cloud API.
Install it through HACS, Home Assistant’s community integration store, and authenticate your tado account, then pair the bridge directly with Tado CE. Hot water, AC, schedules and some overlay changes still need the cloud; it does not support tado X.
tado limits free use of its API: about 100 requests a day without Auto-Assist (20,000 with it), though some accounts still get 1,000. Check your account's rate-limit headers.
