SoundStage for AirPods
AppAdd AirPods controls and spatial audio to Windows
SoundStage is a Windows tray app that reads AirPods battery and wear status over Bluetooth and sends listening-mode commands. It also uses AirPods motion data for its own spatial-audio renderer. The author tested it on AirPods 4 with ANC.
The public beta installs a test-signed kernel driver and an audio component. It needs administrator access, a restart, Windows Test Mode and Secure Boot turned off, so installing it changes your computer's security setup.
The renderer doesn't use Apple's personalized spatial-audio profile. Using the AirPods microphone still drops playback to lower-quality hands-free audio. The project advises a separate microphone for calls.
