Publish fridge and appliance readings to local MQTT
This bridge sends Samsung appliance readings to MQTT, a messaging service that smart home systems can use. It talks to supported fridges, dryers and ovens over your local network and creates entities in Home Assistant, a smart home system you can run yourself. Polling keeps readings coming when appliance internet access is blocked.
You need a Linux host, an MQTT broker and an appliance matching one of the three model descriptors; no SmartThings hub is required. The publisher calls it a reference demo and recommends LocalThings for ordinary Home Assistant use. It does not block the appliance’s own cloud traffic or include a washer descriptor.
