Read fridge data and door states over your own network
LocalThings connects Samsung appliances to Home Assistant, a smart home system you can run yourself. It reads the fridge's reported temperature fields and door states directly over your network and exposes the controls, cycle information and energy readings each supported appliance reports. These readings can drive your own alerts and automations.
You need Home Assistant and an appliance already connected to Wi-Fi; no SmartThings hub is required. First setup reads a public identifier from Samsung, then normal operation uses the local connection. Support depends on the appliance's protocol and credentials, and installing it does not block the appliance's separate traffic to Samsung.
