FirmwareAdd local music and button controls to an Echo Dot
overdub adds local Home Assistant controls and Sendspin music playback to a rooted Echo Dot 2 while leaving its Alexa system installed. Home Assistant, a home automation server you run, can receive button events and control playback through the local connection.
It requires Fire OS 5.5.5.4 and the documented Magisk root layout, so Fire OS 6 is outside its supported setup. Alexa voice still uses Amazon's cloud, and buttons assigned to overdub cannot simultaneously perform their usual Alexa actions.
