FirmwareMake an Echo Dot a local voice and music speaker
EchoMuse turns an Echo Dot 2 into a voice speaker for Home Assistant, a home automation server you run. Its firmware reads the Dot's microphones and buttons directly, and a controller on your network handles the connection to Home Assistant and music playback.
You need an unlocked Dot and the EchoMuse controller as a Home Assistant add-on or Docker service. The default wake detector runs on the Dot; local speech processing needs a local Home Assistant pipeline, and the original Alexa features are removed.
