Run your older Nest thermostat from your own server
Run a local dashboard and control API for a Gen 1 or Gen 2 Nest already using compatible NoLongerEvil firmware. The self-hosted server receives thermostat state and can publish it to Home Assistant through MQTT.
Install the server with Docker or Python, configure a reachable network address and connect the prepared thermostat through its existing NoLongerEvil settings endpoint. Stock firmware cannot connect through this route. Third-generation and newer models, and unverified European Heat Link setups, are excluded.
