Configure a Linux desktop or browser kiosk
NixOS Superbird builds a custom Linux system for Car Thing from a configuration file. It includes options for a Chromium kiosk URL, bundled web app and desktop environment, with local USB networking and Bluetooth support.
Build and flash the image using the documented Nix or Docker workflow, then the installed system boots on its own. This is a developer-oriented route, and the maintainer recommends the newer Yocto Superbird stack for stability and performance.
