Prelude
FirmwareRun CarPlay or Android Auto on the Car Thing
Prelude turns the Car Thing into a display for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, with maps, music, calls and the phone's voice assistant. It projects from your phone over USB, or over a local Wi-Fi link after Bluetooth pairing, and supports the touch screen, rotary knob and preset buttons.
Flash it once from a computer, then use a powered USB OTG adapter and hub to connect the phone and accessories. Wireless use also needs a compatible USB Wi-Fi adapter; audio can stay on the phone or go through a USB audio adapter, and no Nocturne plan is required.
