Control the Pod directly from Home Assistant
Lunaris replaces the Pod's controller programs and talks directly to its serial-connected temperature and sensor hardware. It exposes temperature, vibration, cover buttons, presence and heart-rate estimates through Home Assistant, a home-automation server, using MQTT messaging.
You need a rooted Pod, an MQTT broker and a Home Assistant installation. Rooting means opening the hub and wiring a serial adapter to its circuit board, following Free Sleep's guide, and the install then disables Eight Sleep's cloud service. There is no built-in web app. The author supports Pod 4, calls Pod 3 and Pod 5 untested, and leaves periodic priming to your own automation.
