Run voice processing on an Echo with Linux
LibreEcho replaces the Echo's system with Linux and runs wake detection, speech recognition and speech output on the device. It also offers local web controls, music playback and a connection to Home Assistant, a home automation server you run.
Installation needs a supported bootloader unlock and a Linux computer; Echo 2 requires internal USB access. Echo Dot 2 support is experimental, and the privacy documentation says the firmware sends an always-on anonymous weekly usage count.
