HP Scan for macOS
AppScan from a USB Smart Tank on your Mac
Scan a flatbed page from a USB Smart Tank 500 into Image Capture, Preview or the included HP Scan app. This community Mac companion requires a manual source build, including Go for the local AirScan bridge.
The author tested an Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 26. The wrapper handles single-page flatbed scans; other HP models and proprietary-plugin models are outside this verified route.
