FirmwareRestore local control of older Nest thermostats
A desktop utility backs up and modifies supported Nest firmware so the thermostat can expose local MQTT controls. The project supports second- and third-generation Learning Thermostats; first-generation work remains experimental. USB flashing and recovery knowledge are required, and regional Heat Link compatibility is not established by the reviewed generation-level documentation.
