Launch Windows apps and adjust volume
thingFX turns Car Thing into a Windows app launcher and system-volume controller, with separate settings for multiple connected Car Things. Its desktop companion sends commands and display updates over USB using ADB, with optional music information from Windows or Spotify.
Install an ADB-enabled Thing Labs image first, then keep the Windows companion connected during use. The client is temporarily mounted in memory and reinstalled after power loss; version 1.1.5 also has a reported native-playback failure whose resolution is unverified.
The launcher and system-volume functions do not need a Spotify account or plan. The separate Spotify provider asks for developer credentials and a web-player session token, and its private API route has not been verified working today.
