Command lineUse your installed drives with fewer warnings
Synology HDD db adds installed drive models and firmware versions to DSM’s local compatibility databases. This can remove unverified-drive warnings and enable the documented drive-management route on supported NAS models.
It does not test or certify a drive’s reliability. Root access is required, and DSM updates can require running it again. DSM 7.3 already relaxed many SATA restrictions on 2025 Plus models; use only the core database script for this setup. Optional health-module and PCIe-card binaries have separate requirements.
