Sony headphone controls in a desktop app and CLI
Sony Device Center is a Qt desktop app with a command-line tool (sonyctl) and a background daemon that talk to Sony headphones over Bluetooth, using Sony's reverse-engineered control protocol for both older and newer models. It sets noise cancelling and ambient sound, the equalizer with Clear Bass, DSEE, Speak-to-Chat and auto power-off, and shows battery for the headset, each earbud and the case.
You need headphones paired with the computer. Release packages exist for Windows and Debian-based Linux; macOS is built from source. The README's table marks the WH-1000XM5, XM4, XM3 and WF-1000XM6 as verified by people, and the XM6 as partly working.
