FirmwareA Linux system for Anbernic, Retroid and AYN handhelds
ROCKNIX is a Linux distribution for handhelds, a fork of JELOS. You write an image to an SD card and boot it. It uses the EmulationStation game frontend with the RetroArch emulator and standalone emulators, and adds network play, in-game touch, finer battery and performance controls, Bluetooth audio, Syncthing and rclone sync (file and cloud sync), VPN support, a cover-art scraper and RetroAchievements (achievements for retro games).
Its device list includes the Anbernic RG351, RG353, RG503, RG ARC and RG35XX to RG CubeXX lines, Powkiddy RGB and X models, Retroid Pocket 5, 6, Flip 2, Mini and Nova, the AYN Odin 2, Odin 3 and Thor, and several AYANEO Pocket models.
Builds are model-specific, and some handhelds need a bootloader step. The license file says the project's own software is GPL-2.0 but the distribution includes some components licensed for non-commercial use only.
