Self-hostedUse Ring cameras and Alarm in MQTT automations
ring-mqtt connects Ring cameras, doorbells and Alarm devices to MQTT, a messaging system used by home automation tools. It uses Ring's private cloud API for events, sensors and controls, and relays on-demand live video as an RTSP stream.
Run it on Linux with an MQTT broker, or through Home Assistant, a home automation hub. Camera live view and basic events need no Ring Protect plan; cloud recordings and plan-gated Alarm controls do. Continuous streaming is unsupported and can suppress motion alerts.
