OpenHearing
AppPrototype phone-based sound amplification
OpenHearing is an Android prototype that processes phone-microphone audio for playback through connected earbuds. It stores local sound profiles and includes a hearing-check interface.
An alpha APK is available, but its author has only tested the pipeline with an emulator: real-device sound quality, latency and listening safety remain unvalidated. It is not a medical device, its hearing-check values are not clinically calibrated, and it does not control the AirPods hearing-aid feature.
