FirmwareReplace CCU3 firmware with OpenCCU
OpenCCU replaces the operating system on a Homematic CCU3 while keeping local control of Homematic and Homematic IP devices. It adds web-interface improvements, Linux updates and stability fixes while keeping the vendor firmware’s device and add-on ecosystem.
The project documents installation on CCU3 and compatible backup migration. Prepare a backup and follow the CCU3-specific recovery instructions before replacing the system. OpenCCU code is Apache-2.0 licensed. Its vendor runtime includes source and closed binaries under Homematic Software License 2.0, which permits this CCU3 use, requires shared source for modifications and restricts adapting it to control competing hardware; bundled components retain their own licenses.
