Combine local Nest temperatures with cloud controls
Combine local temperature control and Google cloud features for a fourth-generation Nest Learning Thermostat in Home Assistant, a home automation server. Nest Matters prefers Matter for single temperature targets and Google Nest for HVAC modes, fan controls and humidity. It can use the other connection when the preferred entity is unavailable.
Set up both integrations for the same thermostat first. Google’s Nest backend requires a consumer account, developer setup and a one-time US$5 Device Access fee. Heat/Cool low-and-high target editing is not implemented by this component; cloud fan controls still need the Nest connection.
