Raw video and focus tools for supported Canon cameras
Magic Lantern is software that loads from the camera's memory card each time you switch on and runs alongside Canon's own firmware, which stays in place. It adds raw video recording, zebras, focus peaking, an intervalometer, dual ISO and scripting. It reads no data from Canon or any cloud.
Each build targets one camera model and one specific Canon firmware version, so you may need to match your camera's firmware first. The official builds page lists 21 models: the 5D, 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III, 6D, 6D Mark II, 7D, 7D Mark II, 50D, 60D, 70D, 100D, 200D, 500D, 550D, 600D, 650D, 700D, 750D, 1100D, 1200D and the original EOS M. The 6D Mark II, 7D Mark II, 200D and 750D builds are preliminary. Most R-series bodies, the 5D Mark IV, 80D, 800D, 850D, 1300D and later Rebels, and the EOS M2 and later have no official build.
You need a computer and a card reader. The builds page says Magic Lantern "is not approved nor endorsed by Canon in any way, and using it will probably void your warranty", and that its authors are not responsible for any damage to your camera.
