Control a CHDK PowerShot from your computer
chdkptp is a command line tool, with an optional GUI, that talks to a camera running CHDK over USB or Wi-Fi using PTP, the protocol cameras use to talk to computers. It can shoot and download without saving to the card, run Lua on the camera, upload and download files and show live view. It talks to the camera directly and uses no Canon cloud.
The camera must already run CHDK, so it follows CHDK's model support: PowerShot and IXUS/ELPH models with a CHDK port, plus beta or alpha builds for the EOS M3 and M10. On Windows a libusb driver must be installed with Zadig. Binaries are on Assembla for some platforms, and you can build from source.
