KernelSU
AppKernel-level root for Pixels with GKI kernels
KernelSU is a root solution that runs inside the Linux kernel instead of patching the boot ramdisk. On devices with a Generic Kernel Image (GKI), which includes Pixel 6 and newer, you patch the boot image with its manager app or the ksud tool and flash it. Apps get root through a per-app profile list.
You need an unlocked bootloader, which erases the phone, and a computer with fastboot. Pixels older than the Pixel 6 use non-GKI kernels, which need a kernel built with KernelSU. Verizon-sold Pixels can't unlock the bootloader.
