ipp-usb
Self-hostedDriverless printing and scanning over USB
ipp-usb is a daemon that relays IPP and eSCL over USB, so a USB-connected printer appears as a network printer to CUPS and sane-airscan. Printing and scanning then need no HP driver, HP Smart or account.
It works only with printers that implement IPP over USB. Its HP quirks file names the ENVY 5530, OfficeJet Pro 8730, LaserJet MFP M28 to M31, Photosmart 6520 and ScanJet Pro 4500 fn1, and two HP Laser models (107a, 135a) are on its blacklist.
- Print and scan without HP Smart or an account
- Web console of the printer over USB
- Works with eSCL scanning
