HPLIP
AppHP's own Linux printing and scanning
HPLIP provides HP's Linux printing, scanning and fax tools over USB or the local network. It does not need HP Smart, but active HP+ enrollment still carries HP's account and internet requirements.
Check the exact model and minimum HPLIP version in HP's support table. Some features need HP's separately licensed binary plug-in. The source uses GPL, MIT and BSD terms by file.
