Keep trip and charging records on your own server
EV Trip Logger records drives and charging sessions in Home Assistant, a home automation server you run. It uses vehicle readings already supplied by a BYD integration, stores records locally and can export trips as CSV.
Install it through HACS, the community extension manager, and select your odometer, battery level and vehicle-on sensors. Add charging and power sensors for charging records, but expect gaps and estimates when BYD cloud readings are infrequent. Its battery-health display defaults to 100% until calibration and is not a direct battery measurement.
Fresh BYD records still depend on the upstream integration and BYD connected services. Tesla owners can instead supply Tesla Fleet entities, which require developer setup and use a metered API with a $10 monthly personal-use credit; those API charges are separate from a car subscription.
