Run a Midea dehumidifier without its cloud
ESPHome Dehumidifier replaces the original Wi-Fi module with an ESP32 or ESP8266 and reads the dehumidifier directly over its serial connection. It brings target humidity, fan modes, bucket status and supported sensors into Home Assistant, a home automation hub, without a Midea account.
You need access to the SmartKey connection and a board wired for its 5 V UART signals. The project supports two protocol variants, but not every Cube revision is verified, and the author warns that the appliance’s temperature and humidity readings can be unreliable.
Also works with Comfee, Inventor, and Emelson
