AppControl AirPods 4 ANC from an Android foldable
AirSync reads battery and ear state and changes listening modes over the AirPods Bluetooth control channel. It adds head gestures for calls, Conversation Awareness volume changes and rules that select a mode based on movement or ambient noise.
The author tested AirPods 4 with ANC on a Galaxy Z Fold 8; the other listed models are untested. You build and sideload the app, and control features need a phone that permits Classic L2CAP; its locator is a last-seen map and earbud tone, with no Apple Find My network access.
- See earbud and case battery levels
- Change listening modes without an iPhone
- Pause audio when you remove an earbud
- Switch between Apple and non-Apple devices
- Use head movement and sensors in other apps
- Control AirPods from Android
- Foldable two-pane interface
- Listening-mode rules based on movement and ambient noise
- Per-app equalizer where audio sessions permit it
- Last-seen location and earbud locator tone
