FirmwareAdd local streams and storage to older Wyze firmware
wz_mini_hacks loads extra software from a microSD card alongside supported stock firmware. It can add SSH, local RTSP, network storage and USB features while retaining more of the original camera software.
The useful features depend on exact firmware, not just the camera model. Newer stock releases remove hooks needed for RTSP or audio, and the project’s firmware table is dated February 2024. Its README says development has stopped and recommends Thingino.
- Use cameras without Wyze’s cloud
- Record to your own server
- SSH access
- SMB/NFS storage options
- USB networking and webcam modes
