WinterBreak
FirmwareRemove the ads and install apps like KOReader
WinterBreak jailbreaks a Kindle so it can run homebrew: apps and tweaks Amazon doesn't offer, like the KOReader reading app. Its setup also blocks automatic updates and turns off the ad components.
It works on firmware 5.18.0.2 or earlier, and the Kindle must be registered to an Amazon account first. You need a computer with USB and Wi-Fi.
