Run Linux on Intel Macs with the T2 chip
t2linux is a community project that makes Linux work on Intel Macs with the Apple T2 security chip. This repo builds Debian and Ubuntu kernels with the t2linux patches, which add the keyboard, trackpad, audio, camera and sensor drivers those Macs need. The t2linux wiki has install guides for Arch, Fedora, NixOS, Gentoo, Debian and Ubuntu.
Per the wiki's feature table, keyboard, trackpad, Wi-Fi, Thunderbolt, Touch Bar keyboard mode, camera and audio work. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth need firmware copied from macOS. Touch ID works only for fingers enrolled in macOS, suspend has model-specific issues, dGPU power switching doesn't work, and the T2 video encoder used by Sidecar doesn't work. The 2019 Mac Pro is listed as partly working.
