Showcase
AppTurn an older Apple device into a CarPlay screen
Showcase makes a jailbroken iPhone or iPad a wireless CarPlay receiver for another iPhone. The sender pairs over Bluetooth, joins the receiver’s Personal Hotspot and sends its CarPlay picture and audio, with touch input returned from the receiver.
The tested receiver combinations are an iPad Air 1 on iOS 12.5.8 with checkra1n and an iPhone 7 on iOS 15.8.4 with Dopamine. Install the matching rootful or rootless package; Personal Hotspot and an initial internet connection for certificate preparation are required.
This is beta software with device-specific Bluetooth and hotspot failures reported. Anonymous usage reporting is enabled by default, and its settings let you turn off all reporting or individual fields.
- Add CarPlay or Android Auto to an older screen
- Touch input on the reused receiver
- CarPlay audio on the receiver
- Resolution and frame-rate selection
- Automatic reconnection
