Shadow
FirmwareJailbreak the newest Kindles over a USB cable
Shadow jailbreaks a Kindle from a computer over USB, so it can run homebrew apps like KOReader. The Kindle can stay offline and doesn't need an Amazon account.
It covers firmware 5.19.4 to 5.19.6 on the 2022 and 2024 Scribe and the 2024 Colorsoft, Paperwhite and Kindle, and only firmware builds it has verified. On Windows it needs a USB driver swap that you undo afterwards.
It's new, with few owner reports so far, and the repository has no license file.
- Use it without an Amazon account
- Read books from any store
- Works with the Kindle offline
