podkit
Command lineSync and convert an iPod library from the terminal
podkit syncs music from folders or a Subsonic-compatible server to an iPod, converts incompatible audio, and copies artwork and playlists. A dry run shows the planned changes before a sync.
This is beta software: the author recommends using an iPod you are prepared to erase. It runs on macOS and Linux. Full sync covers classic, video and nano generations 1–5; nano 6–7 can be read and archived but cannot be synced. iPod touch is unsupported. Use the current compatibility table to distinguish hardware-tested models from inferred support.
