PodGate
AppKeep Windows from taking AirPods at startup
PodGate keeps Windows from automatically connecting to your paired AirPods by disabling their Bluetooth device node until you choose Connect. Hotkeys or its tray menu restore the connection, route audio and show battery readings from nearby Bluetooth broadcasts.
Its early release was tested with AirPods Pro 2 USB-C on Windows 11, with battery reading additionally checked on AirPods 2 and 3. Installation adds a privileged Windows service; the music-only mode disables the AirPods microphone, and optional ear detection pauses when the last earbud comes out.
- Switch between Apple and non-Apple devices
- See earbud and case battery levels
- Pause audio when you remove an earbud
- Fix audio quality, delays and playback failures
- Persistent block across reboot and sleep
- Hotkey for music-only A2DP mode
- Restore the previous audio output on release
