OpenSound for Sony
AppControl WF-1000XM4 sound and touch settings from your Mac
OpenSound puts WF-1000XM4 noise control, EQ and supported touch assignments in a Mac window and menu bar. It reads the earbud’s advertised capabilities and confirms setting changes with device replies.
Use Apple Silicon with macOS 14 or newer and build with its documented image-free option, which excludes Sony product renders with unconfirmed redistribution rights. Firmware 2.3.1 is the tested route; multipoint writes and other Sony models remain unverified.
