AppCopy books and files over USB from a Mac
OpenMTP shows your Mac's files next to the files on a device connected over MTP, a USB file-transfer mode. You can copy DRM-free books and folders to a GlowLight 4 Plus without any cloud service.
It runs on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. A GlowLight 4 Plus owner says it works but can be unreliable; older Nooks that show up as a normal USB drive don't need it.
