Self-hostedTurn a Pi and drive into network storage
openmediavault manages attached storage and shared folders through a web interface. On a Pi 3B, 4 or 5, its documented route starts with 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS Lite and wired Ethernet.
It takes charge of the system’s storage and service configuration, so use a dedicated installation without a desktop. Keep a separate backup of the files you share.
- Run services on your own computer
- Install a purpose-built operating system
- SMB and NFS shares
- Drive health monitoring
- Users and shared-folder permissions
