LG viewing-data and ad settings
RecipeTurn off viewing recognition and home promotions
This settings recipe turns off LG's Live Plus viewing recognition, limits personalized advertising and removes supported home-screen promotions. It uses the TV's own menus and optional user agreements, without installing software.
Menu labels vary by model, region and webOS version, so skip a setting only when the TV does not provide it. These controls do not stop all LG diagnostics or data collection by streaming apps, and removing Home Promotion alone does not disable viewing recognition.
- Stop the TV tracking what I watch
- Remove ads from the home screen
- Review optional viewing, voice and advertising consents
- Reduce content recommendations on the stock Home screen
Steps
- 1Open All Settings and find Additional Settings under General > System, General, or System, depending on your webOS version.
- 2Turn off Live Plus where available.
- 3In Home Settings, turn off Home Promotion and Content Recommendation where offered.
- 4Find Advertisement under Privacy & Terms or Additional Settings, then turn on Limit AD Tracking.
- 5Open User Agreements and withdraw optional Viewing Information and interest-based advertising consent.
- 6Check these screens again after a software update.
