Give your assistant local Roomba status and controls
Read Roomba status, explain current error codes and send mission commands from a terminal, local dashboard or AI assistant through an MCP server. MCP is a protocol that lets an assistant use tools. This project talks directly to the robot’s local MQTT broker and was tested with an i4 i415020 on firmware daredevil+2.6.0.
Pair with the robot’s physical dock button to obtain its local credentials. The connection uses a legacy TLS handshake and occupies the robot’s single local connection slot. It cannot steer the wheels or provide a local map, and other i-series models and firmware remain unverified.
