Stream music through MINI's USB and AUX ports
iPodESP32 makes a compatible MINI radio see a homemade Bluetooth receiver as an iPod. It receives phone music and track information, sends audio through AUX, and keeps the radio and steering-wheel playback controls. Android and iPhone music sources are supported.
You build an ESP32 audio adapter and connect it to the car's USB and AUX sockets. The current design depends on older CP2102 chips: the author advises against ordering boards unless suitable pre-2018 chips are available. The ESP32-S3 replacement is still described as a future release, so it is not included as working support.
