Home Assistant Google Cast
Plug-inAutomate playback and announcements on Nest speakers
The Google Cast integration brings Nest and Home playback controls into Home Assistant. Use automations to play reachable audio files, adjust volume or send spoken announcements; Nest Hub displays can also show Home Assistant dashboards.
Run Home Assistant on the same network, with working discovery or configured device addresses. The speaker must be able to reach each media URL; ordinary .local hostnames often fail. Dashboard casting requires an HTTPS Home Assistant address. This controls Cast features without replacing Google’s setup or voice assistant.
