Glovebox
Self-hostedArchive encrypted or plain clips to your own NAS
Glovebox turns a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W into a TeslaCam drive that backs up over home Wi-Fi to your own storage. Its browser viewer plays ordinary clips; Tesla-encrypted recordings are copied intact and downloaded together for Tesla's own viewer.
You need the Pi, an endurance microSD card and a NAS or server, with no Premium Connectivity subscription. The author has tested a 2026 Model 3 HW4; other models are described as expected to work, and encrypted recordings still need Tesla's account service to view.
- Save dashcam clips without moving the USB drive
- Archives Tesla-encrypted files intact
- SMB, NFS, rsync and rclone targets
- Local synchronized camera viewer
- Optional encryption with an owner recovery key
