Lightning battery PID profile
Plug-inRead your Lightning’s battery health locally
John Duffie’s custom PID profile adds Ford battery readings to Car Scanner, a separate diagnostics app. An OBDLink MX+ adapter plugs into the truck’s diagnostic port and sends readings to the iPhone over Bluetooth. The profile covers reported battery health, charge, voltage, current, temperature and energy remaining.
The author checked it on a 2025 F-150 Lightning Flash with a 123 kWh pack. Some motor-temperature and 12V charge readings came from community definitions without a live cross-check. The MIT-licensed profile uses the closed-source Car Scanner app and a tested OBDLink MX+ adapter, currently US$139.95; any app upgrade is separate.
