FirmwareConnect supported devices to your own home automations
ESPHome builds firmware from a configuration file and connects supported boards to Home Assistant, a home automation server, or MQTT. Drivers can run displays, buttons, relays, lights and sensors, including a separate Tuya control chip. An ESP32 can also act as a nearby Bluetooth receiver for supported Xiaomi sensors, leaving those sensors’ firmware unchanged.
Use the exact board, wiring and flashing guide. Integrated displays need their matching panel preset and a layout or automation configuration. Replacing firmware on a smart device removes its original app connection; a companion receiver replaces only the receiver’s firmware. LibreTiny support for Beken, Realtek and Lightning chips remains in development.
