Plug-inAirPods controls and automatic pause in GNOME
Earport puts battery levels and supported AirPods controls in the GNOME desktop. Its daemon reads the private Bluetooth protocol and can pause media when you remove an earbud or lower the volume during a conversation.
Install the daemon and GNOME extension together on GNOME 46 or newer. Only AirPods Pro 2 USB-C has been tested by the author; the optional switching mode is experimental and temporarily presents the Linux session as an Apple device.
