FirmwareA de-Googled Android with its own apps and cloud
/e/OS is the Murena/e Foundation's Android build with Google services removed. Its device pages list Pixel 3 through Pixel 9a, the Fold and the Tablet. Each page marks a build as official or community; at the time of checking only some models (Pixel 5, 7, 8 and the Tablet) had official builds, and the rest were community builds on Android 15 or 16.
You need an unlockable bootloader and a computer; the web installer or ADB and fastboot install it, and installing wipes the phone. Many Pixel pages say the bootloader can't be re-locked. The Pixel 10 and 10a are not listed. Verizon-sold Pixels can't unlock the bootloader.
- Use Android without Google's services
- Optional free Murena cloud account
- Its own apps in place of Google's
