AppRead books directly on your watch
wBooks puts EPUB, plain-text and other document files on a Wear OS watch for offline reading. Add books over your local network, or use its optional Android companion to transfer files and browse Project Gutenberg.
Build the app yourself with the Android SDK and choose your own application ID. The developer uses a Watch6 Classic; other listed models are expected to work, not individually tested. Images and tables are dropped, PDF conversion is experimental, and crash reporting is enabled when a Sentry endpoint is configured.
- Add independent apps to the watch
- Offline reading of EPUB and text files
- Speed-read and sentence-by-sentence modes
- Bookmarks, chapters and autoscroll
- PIN-protected book transfer over local Wi-Fi
