Reach your NAS without opening router ports
Tailscale connects your NAS and your other devices through an encrypted private network. Its open-source NAS client lets you reach file shares and other services remotely, while access rules decide which paired users and devices can connect.
Install the current package for your NAS architecture and sign in to a Tailscale account. The standard setup uses Tailscale’s hosted coordination service, which has a free personal tier and paid plans. On Synology, manually install the current SPK from Tailscale; its older Package Center listing is unsupported, and DSM 7 needs extra setup for outbound connections from other NAS apps.
